smoke

i’m sure that i can’t ever drink you down
the way i would like
and hold you inside me
where you would merge with my being
and become 70% of my existence and yet still you.

so.

i want to merge you with my air
consume you by
lighting you up
toke
hold
exhale

and from so much of you
even as you are surely bad for me
i could see you written prettily on my air
and when i got you out you’ll still be in my hair
even when you aren’t physically there

and in this way you would become
more
a part of me than any other
tall drink of water
than any other purity that could enter me
how much more alive can you be
than both in my lungs
and on my breath
and how beauty ….
to be in unity
yet simultaneously
setting you free?

only problem with this joy is
one day
you’ll surely kill me…

About the Author

Tinu

My name is Love refers to the poetic expression of my Yoruba name. Literally it's closer to "I loved her since she was in my belly" or less crudely "I loved her since she was created". Poetic translation, "loved since conception." Which is fitting because when I love, that's how I love. This blog is a personal recounting of all the things I love, people past and present, places, things, hobbies, life.
